So I've been dating this girl named Susy for a couple years now, and I knew it was time to pop the question. I took her to a passionate, candle light dinner, and we had a beautiful meal. We had some light conversation while I was figuring out how to say it.

Right before I was about to get out the ring, she said,

"Hey, can I talk to you about something?"

"Of course," I said.

"Well, we've been dating for a long time now, and I think that our relationship is falling apart. I think we need to see other people. I'm sorry."

My mouth just hung open. I was stunned. I was about to propose to this girl who had just said she wanted to break up with me. We had been dating for three years, and now she decides this. I was extremely bewildered.

"Um... Will you marry me?" I asked, without knowing what I was doing.

She just stared back at me.

"I-" She said.

And then she just walked out on me. That girl was the love of my life, and now she was gone. I had to fix this. I ran after her. But I couldn't find her. I kept running around corners, hoping to see her, but I never did. Finally, I decided to go home.

A few months later, I was still not over her. She kept haunting my mind. She was going to be my wife! And now she was just nothing. Dating other women was out of the question. I couldn't think of anything else but her.

One night I was out just walking around, when I somehow lost track of where I was going and stumbled into an alley. There, making out against the wall, was Susy and my best friend, Robert.

I was so stunned, I couldn't even move. After about 30 seconds Robert looked over at me, and not recognizing me, said "Hey man get lost."

But then he knew it was me, and he backed away from Susy. Susy couldn't look me in the face.

"You were cheating on me before we broke up, weren't you?" I said.

Susy just stood there. I couldn't believe this. The love of my life had been cheating on me with my best friend. This was too much.

I just turned and walked back to my apartment.

Susy came over that night and knocked on the door. When nobody answered she opened it and screamed to find the body hanging from a rope in the middle of the kitchen.
